Wife, Mother, Software Engineering Director, Band Manager, Band Member, Amateur bag blogger
Mica Syjuco is a Software Engineering Director in a multinational company. She graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology. She is currently located in Chicago, Illinois and works with teams located across the globe – from North America, Europe, Asia, Australia, and South America. She is a Professional Scrum Trainer (PST) with Scrum.org as well.
Mica is in a band called “Utakan” wherein she plays synths and drum machines. Utakan is currently on hiatus. In the meantime, Mica is also the Band Manager of “Jack of None”, whose debut album was released internationally in April 2016. The album is available on iTunes, Google Play, Spotify, Amazon Prime Music, Microsoft Groove Music, and Band Camp. Jack of None was nominated in three categories (winning one of the three) at the 15th Annual Independent Music Awards held in New York in November 2016. The band is now nominated for an astounding 8 awards at the 16th Annual Independent Music Awards which will be held at the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts in New York in March of 2018.
As part of her work as a Software Engineering Director, agile coach and Professional Scrum Trainer (PST), Mica has been a presenter/speaker at a number of internal and external engagements such as Microsoft ALM in Asia, automation conferences in Europe, and Global TechSummit events held in the United States. As part of her stint with her band, she has performed in several events including those which featured artists and musicians from France, Germany, the United States, Singapore, Japan, and the Philippines.
Besides her family, work, and music, Mica is passionate about bags and after years of putting it off, she started her own blog about handbags.
Family, software development, music, and… bags(?!) – words that might not seem to be the most obvious combination, but they mix well in Mica Syjuco’s world.
